HANGING INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRE-PASTED WALLPAPER
BEFORE YOU START
Make sure that your paper is intact and has not been damaged in transit.
Lay the paper out on the floor before starting so that you know how the image matches and check for any inconsistencies as Printed Space cannot be held responsible once you have started to hang the wallcovering.
Make sure that you have adequate lighting – so that you can inspect the material properly while you are hanging it and after it is in position. You can reposition the wallpaper while the adhesive is still wet – so if something has gone slightly awry it can be readjusted if noticed quickly enough.
SURFACE PREPARATION
HP PVC-free Wallpaper can be applied to any flat surface wall or wood, painted or not. We don't recommend applying it to Foamex (PVC) or foam board/kappa as the water can affect the surface.
Brush off area to be covered with a stiff bristle brush to remove all dirt and loose material.
All surface marks should be removed using a detergent solution. Allow to dry thoroughly before applying the paper.
Any holes, cracks or defects in the surface should be filled with a good quality filler, smoothed out and allowed to dry. Remember, a dry surface is the right surface – so if you have to make repairs....be patient and allow the surface to dry.
Hang the paper in the direction of the design, go from left to right wherever possible and overlap subsequent drops by 2mm as required.
TO HANG
This product comes pre-pasted so no additional paste is needed to apply to the wallpaper.
Apply onto a clean dust free wall ensuring the wall is in a sound condition - using a damp sponge.
1) Wet the wall with the sponge before applying the paper.
2) Soak the paper in clean water for 15 seconds (using a large bucket/trough).
3) Lay the wallpaper onto a clean table with paste side up and fold one end toward the middle then fold the other end into the middle, taking care not to crease the paper. Leave the paper like this (paste side to paste side is known as "booking") for 1 minute to activate the adhesive.
4) Place wet image on wall (starting with Sheet 1 on the left hand side) – there should be some overhang (approx 25mm) at the top and bottom and for the edges of the wall. Push the paper up against the ceiling and floor and use a damp sponge to smooth out the wrinkles.
5) Smooth out air bubbles and wipe up excess water with the sponge.
6) Using a sharp blade or scissors trim away excess paper at the top, bottom and edges of the wall – use a straight edged ruler or wallpaper smoother as a guide to keep the knife from slipping.
7) Take the next strip of wallpaper and align it so the image matches up with the last strip - the right hand side sheet should overlap the left hand side sheet by approx 2mm. There is no need to "Overlap and Splice" to remove the excess image – the overlap is designed to remain. THIS IS NOT A BUTT JOIN WALL COVERING. Apply this piece of wallpaper in the same fashion as you did the previous piece.

To remove, completely wet down with wet sponge. Starting at a corner, slowly pull print away from wall. If the paper starts to tear stop pulling and apply more water with wet sponge to back of print in contact with the wall. Wash wall with damp sponge when finished removing print to remove any remaining paste residue. HP PVC-free Wallpaper comes with an HP warranty for clean removal.
You can recycle your stripped PVC-free wallpaper through the HP Planet Partners Recycling Program. See hp.com/recycle for details.
